The Holy Trinity is a mystery, but yet God is close to us and wants to be ever more close to us. Today’s feast one can try to understand with the intellect and for some it may be helpful, but for most of us, today’s feast is rather about recognizing all that God has done for us. Today is like Mother’s day for God – it is God’s day. We take one day out of the year to reflect on who God is and realizing that He is great and the only right thing we can offer is our faith and adoration. Just as for our mom’s we offer flowers and cards, for God we need to offer Him tokens of gratitude for all that He has given us. Believing in Him is the only answer we can give to our Great and Awesome God. We can learn from Mary how to correctly praise and adore God. She not only left us the Magnificat “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord… He has done great things for me, Holy is His name…” (LK 1:46-54), but her whole life was a song of adoration and faith in God. May we learn from her, how to believe when it seems impossible and to adore even in the darkest moments of our life. May we adore God with our lives, by living a life worthy of being called his sons and daughters.
